This lodge is situated in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, home to the Big 7 of Africa which consists of lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, elephant, buffalo and rhino!
The kitchen at Sabi Sand Game Reserve began as a Kosher-style offering kitchen. The lodge created this kosher offering, not knowing how busy they would have actually have become with such a dedicated team, they decided to create a bespoke solution that caters for Kosher clientele. We endeavoured to certify this kitchen under the Beth Din of Johannesburg in order for this magnificent property to boast a fully certified Kosher kitchen – and we succeeded!
For all our Kosher bookings, a Mashgiach (Kosher supervisor) is arranged to travel to the lodge to ensure that the Kosher kitchen runs according to the high standard of the Beth Din of Johannesburg.
The Mashgiach remains on-site throughout your stay, to supervise all Kosher meals prepared by the well-trained chefs at the lodge.
If you prefer, one of our team’s Kosher chefs are available to fly into the property to prepare all your meals for the duration of your stay.
We cater to all of our Kosher guests’ dietary requirements such as Mehadrin Commission Meat and Chalav Yisroel dairy products, as well as any other dietary preferences.
The lodge forms part of the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve – the oldest private nature reserve in South Africa, established in 1948. This magical piece of land has been in the hands of four generations. One family that has stood as guardians over a piece of Africa’s untouched beauty, keeping the spirit of community and conservation alive.
This property in the Kruger National Park is one of only seven private park concessions and protects pristine wilderness, as well as sites of cultural and historical significance. The lodge has 12 400ha (30 600ac) of exclusive traversing ensuring a personalised safari experience.
